I bought this a couple weeks ago and I thought the scrub would be more "grainy" vs. "gooey". Not enough scrubbing particles. Scent is good.

I love everything Fuji Green Tea. This scrub is very mild and it goes very quickly. I like it but it's not something that I would pay full price for. Buy it on sale.

Thank you for contacting The Body Shop. The Fuji Green Tea Body Scrub should be used for your body. If you are looking to exfoliate your face we recommend trying one of our facial exfoliators like the Seaweed Pore-Cleansing Facial Exfoliator. We hope this answer helps!

I was wondering what the exfoliating beads are made of? The container label mentions "Pod Devices" which is "a registered trademark of The Body Shop." However, I can't find any information about what these Pod Devices are on the Body Shop website or on the Internet. Are they biodegradable?

Thank you for contacting The Body Shop. the exfoliating materials in the Fuji Green Tea Body Scrub are Cellulose Acetate and Jojoba Esters which are both naturally derived and biodegradable. Also, pod devices are not an ingredient.

Cellulose Acetate is a form of plastic that uses cellulose fibers as a starting ingredient. (FYI...main ingredient in cigarette filters)
The term "biodegradable" is vague for this material. As in 1-10yrs and that's when conditions are good.
There are several articles online about plastic beads in skin care/ bath products. Essentially, they do not degrade fast enough, and water treatment facilities can not filter them out which results in pollution of our water and fish.
I would not use this product and I'm upset that the Body Shop, a company that is "animal friendly" would develop/sell such a product. There are many alternative ingredients that have "scrubber" properties that can be used and that dissolve in water.
