WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF ARGAN OIL?

The benefits of argan oil for hair have become pretty widely known, but did you know it’s traditionally used to nourish skin? Thanks to being naturally rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, argan oil is intensely moisturising for dry skin. Berber women have treasured this ‘liquid gold’ and used it in their beauty routines for generations, as part of Moroccan hammam – a traditional ritual often enjoyed before a wedding or special occasion. Moroccan women even use it to massage skin during pregnancy. That’s why we harness argan oil’s natural properties to enrich our sublimely nourishing Wild Argan Oil range, for an ultra-rich, luxurious way to pamper skin.

WHERE DOES OUR COMMUNITY TRADE ARGAN OIL COME FROM?

We sustainably source our Community Trade argan oil from Targanine in the Little Atlas Mountains of Morocco, where the argan trees grow wild. The fruits are gathered up from the forest floors and delivered to our partners, the Targanine cooperative. Targanine’s tightknit network of cooperatives represent over 300 Berber women who process the fruits to make this precious oil, earning a fair wage and helping improve their social status and financial independence in a rural area with limited work opportunities. Our trade also helps support local agricultural communities, preserve the area’s traditional farming techniques.
