CANADA - “I WOULD END WORLD POVERTY, STOP GLOBAL WARMING AND SOMEHOW END WAR”

Hi, I’m Scarlett, I’m 11 years old from Vancouver, Canada.

When I’m a grown up, I will be an environmentalist and a detective that solves crime, and I would be an actor and a singer on the side.

I would live in Costa Rica, where it is tropical, and it has a safe environment. I want a big family with four kids, two dogs, and a husband. I don’t really care what my husband’s name is as long as he has a quirky personality and wants a big family.

My childhood dream for the world is for it to look like it did in the 80’s, when there was crazy music and crazy clothing. The Earth would not be polluted and there would be no fossil fuel companies at all. There would be NO WARS, and the world would live as one.

There would be 100x less shootings, kidnappings, murders, rape, and things like that. Cancer would be cured!!! And all other diseases and illnesses! Global warming would end!!!

If I could, I would change the world completely! I would stop all fossil fuel companies and I would build houses for the poor and end world poverty. I’d also somehow stop global warming. I would donate lots of money to science research to find a cure for cancer. I would somehow end war.

To create this project, we advertised for contributors on Upwork.com. We asked the contributors to work with their children to answer a survey, produce two drawings and photograph them.

From the 71 responses collected for this campaign, we selected the top responses based on detail and quality to feature as profiles in the campaign. We collected first names of the children, plus their ages and location.

We compared the data collected from the survey for all 71 responses from 30 countries to uncover similarities and differences in opinions across the world in relation to hopes and dreams for the future.
