TIP 1: GET SOME BEAUTY SLEEP
A sleepless body often has a diminished immune system, so a good night's sleep before a long-haul flight will help you feel calm, relaxed and energised. Unwind and pamper the evening before your flight with time in the tub, your favourite Netflix show or a good book. It’s the best way to start any holiday.
TIP 2: DRINK WATER AND PLAN YOUR SNACKS
Recirculated plane air isn't just bad for your skin – it can dehydrate your entire body. Stick to water and drink lots of it. Avoid aeroplane snacks full of salt and sugar and pack some nuts, seeds and dried fruit to nibble on. This will give you some slow release energy without spiking your blood sugar and dehydrating you further.
TIP 3: PREP YOUR SKIN BEFORE YOUR FLIGHT
Ideally, you should prep skin a few days before your flight. Focus on a hydrating moisturiser to make sure your skin is quenched before you board and ready to cope with parched cabin air. Before your flight, smooth our vegan Mediterranean Almond Milk with Oats Instant Soothing Mask onto the face to leave skin feeling softer, smoother and recharged with moisture. After showering, apply our creamy Olive Nourishing Body Butter, Shea Nourishing Body Butter or Hemp Body Butter to your body to nourish skin with at least 48hr moisture.
TIP 4: MAKE SURE YOUR HAND LUGGAGE COMPLIES WITH REGULATIONS
Keep a make-up bag in your hand luggage to store long-haul flight beauty essentials, but don’t forget those pesky liquid restrictions that can differ from airline to airline. As a guide, you should only take travel-sized bottles, tubs, tubes and pots that hold up to 100ml each. All your minis must fit into a transparent, resealable plastic bag which holds no more than a litre and measures approximately 20x20cm. Always double-check the guidelines to avoid any pre-flight fuss.
TIP 1: MASK ON-THE-GO
Sheet masks are a flight-friendly way to pamper and nourish your skin. They won’t weigh luggage down and you don’t have to worry about rinsing anything off afterwards. Our Drops of Youth™ Youth Concentrate Sheet Mask leaves skin looking fresher, bouncier and healthier in just 15 minutes – perfect for warding off that icky in-flight feeling.
TIP 2: STAY HYDRATED
Drink water throughout your flight and apply hydrating products to help keep your skin feeling soft and moisturised. Our Face Mists are perfect for an instant, refreshing hit of hydration. Enriched with Community Trade hemp seed oil from France, our Hemp Heavy-Duty Lip Care will help protect your lips from the dry cabin air. To keep your body feeling soft, smooth and moisturised, pack a travel-sized Body Butter.
TIP 3: RELAX
It’s important to try and grab a few hours of sleep, especially on a long-haul flight. Come prepared. Pick up a neck pillow in the airport, wear your loosest, comfiest clothes and ask for a blanket. Earplugs and a sleeping mask will help block out noise and light.
TIP 1: GET READY FOR YOUR HOLIDAY
Got plans as soon as your plane touches down? Our travel-friendly make-up is gentle on post-flight skin and can be applied instantly. Our hydrating Fresh Nude Tinted Beauty Balm SPF30 is perfect for a fresh-faced, post-flight look. Pack a Lip Juicer for a quick pop of hydrating colour and one of our compact Shimmer Waves multi-purpose palettes to blush, contour, shadow and highlight for a sun-kissed glow.
TIP 2: HEADING HOME? DETOX, PAMPER, RELAX
After a week or two of indulgent food, fancy cocktails and sunshine, your skin might look and feel a little unsettled. Once home, drink a glass of warm water mixed with the juice of half a freshly squeezed lemon to help flush out some of those toxins. Next, powerfully purify your skin with our bestselling, skin-tingling, vegan Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask. It has an invigorating, exfoliating texture that draws out impurities, refines the appearance of pores and leaves a healthy-looking glow.
