COMMUNITY TRADE HONEY FROM ETHIOPIA
Sourced from Beza Mar since 2009
Our ethically-sourced Ethiopian honey will leave you buzzing with joy. It comes from the UNESCO Sheka Forest Biosphere Reserve in Ethiopia, where African bees distil the nectar of rainforest flowers to create a distinctive floral honey. To collect this precious honey, we work with the ‘bee whisperers’ of Beza Mar, a group dedicated to improving the livelihood of Ethiopian beekeeping communities and maintaining their traditional, natural way of working with bees. When ready, the beekeepers gently blow clouds of smoke into the hives to remove the honeycombs, revealing the golden treasure inside.
Made from the nectar of wild flowers found in Ethiopian Afromontane rainforests, this moisture-boosting ingredient is perfect for our luxurious formulas.
Beza Mar are dedicated to improving the livelihood of hundreds of Ethiopian beekeepers. Our trade helps provide an income to people who could otherwise be unable to find reliable work.
Our trade helps support the sustainable use of the forest by providing a steady income to local people, empowering them to preserve wild African bees which are vital for our planet.
