COMMUNITY TRADE ORGANIC BABASSU OIL FROM BRAZIL

SOURCED FROM COOPERATIVE OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCERS OF LAGO DE JUNCO (COPPALJ) SINCE 1995

We are proud to work with a cooperative of babassu oil producers who call themselves the “guardians of the forest”. Our babassu oil is extracted from the nuts of wild babassu palm trees. The trees are an essential resource in the Maranhão state of north-east Brazil, where thousands of families harvest the nuts. One of nature’s most moisturising oils, babassu is packed with natural goodness, leaving skin feeling soft and smooth.

ENRICH OUR PRODUCTS

Babassu oil is known and loved for its moisturising benefits. Ours is extracted from the nuts of wild babassu palm trees found on the fringes of the Amazon rainforest in Brazil.

ENRICH OUR PLANET

The nuts are grown wild and the oil is produced organically, so no artificial pesticides or fertilisers are used. Our trade also helps COPPALJ to lobby on behalf of babassu-harvesting communities to help them protect the forest, local biodiversity and their livelihood.
