The Commitment - Enrich Not Exploit™ is The Body Shop's business philosophy. It influences everything we do. Our commitment is underpinned by three pillars:
- Enrich our People
- Enrich our Products
- Enrich our Planet
These are supported with goals and targets which we are working towards achieving in 2020.
For 40 years, The Body Shop has believed passionately that animals should not be used for cosmetic testing. We have never tested any of our ingredients or products on animals and we never will, and we only source ingredients from suppliers who meet our cruelty free standard. The Body Shop was instrumental in securing UK and European bans on animal testing for cosmetic purposes.
We were the first company to be certified with the Leaping Bunny logo by Cruelty Free International. Leaping Bunny certification is the only internationally recognised scheme that enables consumers to easily identify and purchase cosmetic and toiletry products that have not been tested on animals.
For five consecutive years, The Body Shop Australia campaigned to Stop Violence in the Home. In doing this, we hope to have made a real difference to the way family violence is perceived in our community. As part of our ongoing commitment to this important campaign, our donation resources are currently committed to Refuges and organisations directly supporting women and children affected by domestic and family violence.
